Romance my senses and set my soul free
With the lyrical panache of poetry!
A blissful blend of words, music and silence – poetry is magic! It is music to ears when heard and the soul of a poet when his/her expressions come to life on paper.
And what great can I write when the legacy of great poets in the form of quotes exit? They rightly touch the panache of poetry.
“There is a pleasure in poetic pains / Which only poets know.”
– William Cowper
“Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality, but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotions know what it means to want to escape from these things.”
–T. S. Eliot
“All bad poetry springs from genuine feeling.”
– Oscar Wilde
A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language.
– W. H. Auden
Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash.
– Leonard Cohen
And so on… These enlightening quotes and the treasure of poetry is timeless. I only attempt to brighten my burning life with the light of poetry.
